Maxine Shares her makeup story

  • How did you get into artistry?
  • I fell into makeup as a career kind of accidentally. I always loved wearing it and buying it, so I would do friends’ and family’s makeup for any events they had or just for fun. Before you know it, I had a salon and a teaching diploma.  

  • What does being a makeup artist mean to you?
  • Being a makeup artist, to me, means I get to be part of so many people’s special events in their life — and I get to be the person that helps make people feel comfortable and happy in their own skin. 

  • What VIEVE product do you always keep in your kit, and why?
  • Well, that would probably be all of them, but 3 staples I’ll always have are Super Skin Nova, Lip Dew in Rosa, and Sunset Blush in Malbec.  

  • What advice would you give to aspiring makeup artists?
  • Just do it. Just do peoples makeup, whether it’s your friends, grans, even your boyfriends. Just paint lots of different faces, so you’re used to working on all different skin types, tones, textures and face shapes. That is how you’ll thrive in the industry: knowing how to work on anyone! 

  • Who are your biggest artistic influences (in or outside of makeup)?
  • For artistic influences, I would have to say mummy VIEVE, obviously. I don’t think there’s anyone who’s into makeup who hasn’t seen Jamie Genevieve and her career as an inspiration! I also love Pat McGrath, Mario Dedivanovic, and Jonathon Thorpe! 

  • What makes a great MUA in your eyes — beyond technique?
  • Someone who can adapt their personality and vibe to suit whoever is in their chair. You’ll come across so many different types of people in your career from all walks of life, and I think if the person in your chair feels comfortable enough to be completely themselves in front of you, then already they’ll see you as a great artist.

Nope! It’s completely free to join.

How do I become a member?​

Just apply via our online form and upload one or two documents that show you're a working makeup artist or in training.

Who is eligible to join?​

The programme is open to professional makeup artists across the industry — whether you're in film, TV, bridal, theatre, or fashion. Apprentices and students in training are welcome too.

Where and how can I use my discount?

You’ll get 30% off core products when you shop online at vievebeauty.com. The discount is capped at £2,000 per year, which means you can spend up to £2,000 per year at the discounted rate. Once your application is approved, you'll receive a unique code to use at checkout. For details on product exclusions, please refer to the Terms & Conditions.

How long does it take for my application to be processed?

Applications are reviewed monthly. 

Can I share my VIEVE PRO discount?​
